The TV that’s thinner than a DVD!

Image courtesy of T3Sony have announced their latest TV.  So what’s all the fuss?  Well, what makes this TV special is that it uses Organic LEDs (OLEDs) and has a thickness of 0.3mm thick.  Yep, that’s right, less than a third of a millimetre thick, which makes it thinner than a CD or DVD!

Sony unveiled their XEL-1 TV at the CES show in Vegas earlier in the year, which also uses OLEDs and is an impressive 3mm thick, but coming in at a tenth of the size, the unamed screen certainly wins Slimmer of the Year.

There’s no information as to when (or even if) this screen will be made commerically available, but even as a proof-of-concept model it is impressive.
