A bit later that usual, this week’s podcast is BBC Radio 1’s “Best of Moyles” podcast. This, predictably, is a compilation of the week’s best bits of Chris Moyles’ Breakfast Show, and a few extra bits chucked it. The self-proclaimed “Saviour of Breakfast Radio” is joined by his usual crew: Comedy Dave, Alec - day/gay producer, Sport Princess Carrie, producer Rachel and the legend Dominic Byrne.
The podcast is excellent, very funny and has some great guests. Last week featured Gordon Ramsay, returning the favour I presume after Chris appeared on Ramsay’s “F Word”. Another great semi-regular feature are the games that Chris and co. invent, with varying success, including the dubiously original Alive or Dead.
The podcast comes in two flavours - the bog-standard one, and the the “enhanced” podcast, with chapters and photos. In fact it is not uncommon for one of the team to shout out random objects just so they show up as photos in the podcast!

Top of the Pods is a great podcast written by Rob and Jon, which is so simple its brilliant. In each episode they run down a top ten list - this list can be anything. Recent lists include Top Ten People With Only One Facial Expression, Top Ten Reasons To Be Mad At Sony and Top Ten Things To Do With A Snickers Bar! Most of the lists are user-submitted; they even used a list I sent in - Top Ten Things That Always Happen In A Game Of Monopoly! Rob and Jon inject their own sense of humour into the proceedings, with Rob tending being the straight(er) man and Jon being the gag-meister. They have over 150 shows you can download from their back catalogue, and their website gives a quick description of them all. Production quality is excellent (Rob works for other pro podcasts) and they pride themselves on being a family friendly show.

Inspired by Ryan Morrison’s podcast directory on his Up Your Ego site, I am going to review a podcast every Wednesday. I am subscribed to several in iTunes, and I will start off my reviewing those first, but if anyone can point me in the direction of any other good (or otherwise) podcasts I will certainly take a listen.
