Apparently this has been doing the rounds for a while, but I’ve only just seen this. Looks like a hoax or a viral marketing campaign, but there are already variants popping up on the web.
There are a number of theories as to how this is done - pre-treated kernels, under table heating element, hidden microwave parts. I think the latter is most likely. Apparently the kernels need to heat to 450 degrees Fahrenheit before the moisture inside turns to steam and makes them explode, and if your Nokia did that your fingers would like like a nasty barbequing accident after a five minute call! Very clever though. What next? A laptop that cooks pizzas? An iPod with spitroast cover flow?
