Wow, its been a busy 24 hours. After posting my story about the FireNES plugin, it got picked up by StumbleUpon and sent around 16,000 visitors my way! Great traffic, but unfortunately it caused the server hosting my site to fall over under the demand. In total, ryanajarrett.com was down for about 2½ hours. The levels of traffic dropped right down during the outage and although I’m getting some interest in the post, most Stumble traffic has died.
To counter this I’ve now installed the WP Super Cache plugin to ease the workload on the server and therefore it should stand up should the same thing happen again.
I seem to have doubled my RSS subscribers in the process, so “Hello” to all of you that have just added me to your feed reader or signed up for the email.

I’ve never seen these before but they look amazing. Street art created from rubbish bags that inflate over ventilation grilles when an underground train goes past! They’re quite surreal but a lot of skill must go into each model.
Ever wanted to experience time travel. Want to follow in Doc Brown’s footsteps, accelerate to 88 miles per hour and be sent back in time. Well now you can…or at least you can pretend to. How about this “working” replica Flux Capacitor for only £200.
RetroNOOB has brilliantly fused modern photos with 8-bit artwork, creating some interesting results. See a Street Fighter bout taking place in a real Dojo, or Donkey Kong being pursued by Mario up the side of a real skyscraper.
