Ever fancied owning your own Tardis? How about jazzing up your garden with a Doctor Who theme? Well, thanks to a Liverpudlian joinery, now you can!
Liverpool Daily Post reports that MDL Timber created their first Tardis after their manager, Greg Mercer, came up with the idea. Now their prototype sits on Great Howard Street in Liverpool, and attracts scores of enquiries. This one has seen better days, now the flashing blue light has stopped working, but we’re assured “it’s just the bulb that’s gone”.
Replicas of the Tardis sell for £375 a piece and two have been sold already. Unfortunately the inside is definitely the same size as the outside, so dreams off solving your home storage problems will have to be put off for another day!

As well as the second series of Torchwood starting tomorrow, the Torchwood ARG (Alternative Reality Game) starts tomorrow as well. You sign up as a Torchwood agent and then you’re given missions to complete, solving puzzles using clues from the episodes and scattered over the web.
The web interface is a recreation of the Torchwood computer system the team can be seen using in the series. You can sign up at the BBC Torchwood website, but the first mission will not be available until 22:00 Wednesday 16th January, after the first episode has aired.
Watch the following video for more information.
UPDATE: Just found out that this is only available to UK viewers.

I’ve just read on Doctor Who Online that Patrick Troughton’s son, David, is to appear in the new series of Doctor Who, playing a character called Professor Hobbs, possibly in the final episode.
Patrick Troughton played the second Doctor from 1966 until 1969, to be succeeded by Jon Pertwee.
