Just in case anyone is interested, Brian Lee is running a contest to win copies of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People on geniustypes.com. Its a book on personal growth and developing better habits to further yourself. I haven’t read it but from what I can gather its worth taking a look.

Digital Spy are reporting that the BBC’s iPlayer will be launched on 27th July. This is only a beta and will be limited to the “catch up” function only, but its still exciting news. A full roll out later in the year will include the ability to stream programs rather than download them and watch programs from the archive. However, the iPlayer (as it stands) will run with Windows Media Player embedded and, for the moment, only on Windows although other platforms are promised.

Top of the Pods is a great podcast written by Rob and Jon, which is so simple its brilliant. In each episode they run down a top ten list - this list can be anything. Recent lists include Top Ten People With Only One Facial Expression, Top Ten Reasons To Be Mad At Sony and Top Ten Things To Do With A Snickers Bar! Most of the lists are user-submitted; they even used a list I sent in - Top Ten Things That Always Happen In A Game Of Monopoly! Rob and Jon inject their own sense of humour into the proceedings, with Rob tending being the straight(er) man and Jon being the gag-meister. They have over 150 shows you can download from their back catalogue, and their website gives a quick description of them all. Production quality is excellent (Rob works for other pro podcasts) and they pride themselves on being a family friendly show.
